WILMINGTON to SOUTHPORT / Monday, April 4 to Tuesday, April 5 (Days 73-74)

Admiral's Log:     8:00 am, Mon. 4/4/16
                         Temp:   49
                         Winds:   calm
                         Speed:   7.5

This is a quick trip back down the Cape Fear River to Southport, NC. We arrived at 10:30. Fueled up, met up with Sweet T, and Zephyr pulled in soon after.

ICW Traffic, hang on for the wake.
Mike and I took a walk to scope out a dinner spot. More cute old houses from the mid 1800's to early 1900's. Several TV series and movies were filmed here too. Seems these Southern towns have so much character and ambiance, they are popular choices in the film industry.
"Crimes of the Heart" with Sissy Spacek filmed here.

Just a few of the adorable houses. Azaleas were in full bloom.

Mike and I had lunch at Fishy Fishy, a cute place on the water.  That night the 6 of us Loopers had drinks, and then dinner at Provisions Company.  Mike and I both had fresh peel and eat shrimp and a fried crab cake. Both quite yummy.

I've lost days, but not this way. Funny sign though.
Went back to the boat to switch back and forth between the NCAA final and the Lightning. Glad to see Villanova win, even tho we were in NC., but the Lightning lost.

Tuesday, we woke up to a very windy day! Mike arranged for an oil change because the labor rate is quite reasonable here. I took a longer walk through town and did a little laundry. We met some new Loopers from Michigan.

We planned the next leg of our trip up to Norfolk, VA, where we will fly home for a week then back for a Looper Rendezvous, May 2-5 in Norfolk.

I fixed chicken teriyaki in the crock pot and we watched the Lightning again.
