SCOTTSBORO to ROGERSVILLE (Joe Wheeler State Park) / Monday, October 10 (Day 263)

Admiral's Log:     7:15 am, 10/10/16
Air Temp:   54     Water Temp:   67
                        Winds:   5 mph
                        Speed:   10.2 mph

Finally, fall is in the air! The leaves are changing and there was a little nip in the air too. I even had to wear long pants and a jacket on the flybridge. I have to admit tho, we've been pretty lucky and have not had many really hot days.

This is the Guntersville Lock. This is the first time we went thru
when the water had already been dumped.
This is the second time we went thru in the other direction.
We left fellow Loopers; Sophie Marie from Canada, Copper Penny and Wye Tug at Goose Pond Marina.

Lighthouse House on Lake Guntersville, closest I've come to a Lighthouse since on the Rivers.
I took a photo of this the first time by but did not get this sign.
We saw the Nina and Pinta again entering the Guntersville Lock.
The leaves are finally changing.
While we were cruising, Mike got a call from another Looper; Home Office. We had not seen them since May when we crossed the Atlantic Ocean from Cape May NJ to New York harbor. He saw us on his AIS (a vessel ID transponder) and called  just to say hi. It's a "small loop" as he put it. I remembered I had taken pictures of their boat that day, so I emailed them to him.

Boats at Joe Wheeler State Park.
We had a 100 mile day and arrived at our anchorage at 5:00. We were going to anchor across from Joe Wheeler State Park, but as we dropped anchor we heard people yelling from the park Marina to come dock there. We pulled anchor and docked with several Loopers that were there early for the Rendezvous. We had a small docktails and dinner was left over white beans and cornbread Mike's mother gave us.
