BECKWITH ISLAND Anchor to BERNADETTE ISLAND Anchor / Saturday, July 16 to Sunday, July 18 (Days 178-179)

Admiral's Log:     8:30 am, Sat. 7/16/16
Air Temp:   65     Water Temp:   66
                        Winds:   9 mph
                        Speed:   9.9 knots

We had planned on staying at the Beckwith anchor for a couple of days, but it was way too rocky rolly for all the boats. It did not bother Mike and and I so much, we think because we have a midship master bedroom and our boat is pretty heavy. We really wanted to get in the water too, but it was way too cold.
We passed this Sentinel Guy, don't know his purpose but was cute.
We got to our next anchorage at 11. There was already a sailboat there, but plenty of room for the 4 of us. We even rafted in pairs. Rafting is where two boats tie together. It's a lot of fun. You can just walk from one boat to the other. We rafted with Mel and Ann of Morningstar and Phase II rafted with Sweet T.

We had some home owners that were none too happy that we were in their water. We were well away from their house. The sailboat people said the home owners are well known by local boaters as not very friendly. They said we were well within our rights to anchor there and those people don't own the water.  It was so funny; each time a boat came near their house they would come running down to the dock, waving their arms and shooing people away. If they only knew that several of us were probably older than they were and we all go to bed by 9, far from party animals.

Mike and I and Mel and Ann got in our dingy and did a little exploring.
The terrain is so cool. All the rock islands scattered here and there in the water. We saw a Loon, kind of a big duck; it's black with white stripes on it's neck, and white polka dots on their wings and they make a cool sound. They dive underwater for food. We counted one that stayed under for well over a minute!

Pretty scenery
Pink granite stripe running from the land into the water. We thought it was a log at first.
Tons of these cool rock formations.
Cool glass house perched on rock.
Loons are really pretty, had to make it big so you can see the white markings.
We all put together what ever we could come up, with had a pot luck dinner on Morningstar. After dinner we played a game call Left, Right, Center. It is a mindless, fun dice game. Especially since I was the winner and won 40$. Beginners luck.
Money Bags!
