BREWERTON to OSWEGO, NY / Sunday, June 19 (Day 150)

Admiral's Log:     7:45 am, Sun. 6/19/16
Air Temp:   65     Water Temp:   69
                        Winds:   2 mph
                        Speed:   6.0

Another glorious day! We went through the last lock on the Erie, #23 and then 8 locks on the Oswego Canal to Oswego, NY. Our last stop in the good ole USA.
Our first lock on the Oswego Canal
Phase II in front, Glorious Dei and Sea Trek
Lori and Dave Martin of Phase II, our locking buddies.

My view from the bottom, 27 up after the lock was flooded.
Locking is fun in this weather!
We got to Oswego at 2:00. Not the best marina we've stayed at. The dock master was rude and not talkative at all. The bathes and showers were old and dirty. But they did have laundry so Bonnee was able to take home clean clothes. Thank goodness we only stayed one night.

Another day loving the sunshine!
Co-captian Casey, helping me in the locks.
Lock 8, last on the Oswego, that is Lake Ontario up ahead.
Lori of Phase II and I rode bicycles to the grocery. Oy, was that a learning lesson; showed how out of shape we were. Grocery was about 2 miles away. Some up hill, I had to walk my bike at one point. Luckily it would be downhill coming back with backpacks of groceries on our backs. It was pretty funny us and our packs. I had to totally focus telling myself you can do this. All I needed was to fall off and have to delay our trip! When we got back to the boat everyone was amazed at our packs. Must have weight 30 pounds or more!  Lori and I just knew we would be sore the next day. But really we weren't. I did feel it a little last night when I had to sit on a wooden chair at dinner. Those bike seats are not comfy on this old rear end I can tell ya.

Lori and her weighed down pack, you can't see how big it was at this angle,
but she had another bag tied to her backpack.
About 6 guys had a captain's meeting about our next step. So we had sort of a mini docktails meeting. Since it was Father's Day, I fixed Mike his favorite meal; meatloaf, grandma potatoes (kind of creamed taters), pinto beans and cottage cheese with peaches. Not a hard meal to prepare luckily, as we were all pretty tired.

Our co-captain Casey got a little over served. He was our entertainment that evening. Dave and Lori had a good laugh. We all agreed it happens to the best of us at some time or another. Guess he was celebrating his last night the boat.

We all went to bed pretty early (needless to say Casey did, haha), since we were getting up early to shove off before the winds got up too high on Lake Ontario.

Our marina, and Lake Ontario.
We are the blue dot, the red line is Canadian line.
