OSWEGO NY to PICTON, ONTARIO CANADA / Monday, June 20 (Day 151)

Admiral's Log:     6:10 am, Mon. 6/20/16
Air Temp:   65     Water Temp:   69
                        Winds:   calm
                        Speed:   6.6

We said good bye to Bonnee and Casey. They are getting a cab to Enterprise to rent a car and drive to Niagara Falls for a couple of days before they head back to home and reality.

We got an early start to avoid high winds projected on Lake Ontario. We were bombarded with these tiny biting flies. I put on bug repellant and this seemed to deter them. But the boat was covered with dead fly carcasses.

It's 36 miles across the lake and another 20 up a channel to our marina; Tip of the Bay in Picton, Ontario Canada. This is where we clear customs. Once we cross the Canadian border we are to fly a yellow, quarantine flag until we are approved to enter the country, then we fly a courtesy Canadian flag.

Phase II was boarded by the Canadian Border Patrol. We figured it was because he had so much wine. He and a couple of buddies make their own wine and he has 5 cases delivered to his boat at different stops along the way. So we thought the border agents figured he was going to sell it and they were going to tax him. But come to find out they were looking for some guy named David Martin. They had different middle names and other discrepancies, so they were cleared to go.

We walked to town where I bought a few Canadian stamps, we exchanged some Canadian money, bought a few groceries and we had a good lunch at a local pub.

After reading and napping we had cereal for dinner and called it a night. We kind of have this eating rule. If we eat out one meal then we eat in for the other meal. Trying to save money and watch what we eat. But that seems to be pretty hard at times. Oyveh! Also in the boating world, 9 pm is called boater's midnight. Pretty much says it all.  Haha
